Hannu Pro develops TV3 news studio in Lithuania

In June Hannu Pro and TV3, a broadcaster representing leading Northern European media technology group MTG (Modern Times group) in all Baltic States, agreed collaborating for a new project - news system and studio development for TV3 Lithuania, designed similarly to the studios, which Hannu Pro developed for TV3 in Latvia and Estonia earlier this year. Project includes equipment of news studio, play-out studio (with Orad broadcast graphics solution) and journalist newsroom development, as well as delivery of video cameras for news production. TV3 news system in Lithuania, like those built in Latvia in Estonia, is based on Panasonic P2 tape-less technologies, providing effective and completely digital news production workflow: image acquisition, ingest, media and content management, editing and play-out with the support of 16:9 format.
- News studio equipment includes: four Panasonic AG-HPX371EJ cameras equipped with systems for automated studio control; two AutoCue prompter systems with central base station; Cartoni supports; a motorized JonyJib 15 foot camera crane; equipment for signal control; and additional Arri and Unolita studio lights
- News studio control and play-out room is equipped with: a Grass Valley Indigo mixer; Grass Valley Modulars for signal processing; an Orad Morpho system for broadcast graphics and titles; an Apantac multiviewer system; JVC video monitors; PreSonus StudioLive audio mixer and Genelec monitors; as well as Wohler and Leader signal control equipment
- For news production supplied are: seven Panasonic AG-HPX371EJ and AG-HPX171 P2 tape-less technology video cameras completed with Cartoni tripods, SWIT batteries, Beyerdynamic microphones and Camrade bags
- News production room facilitates 18 journalist work places equipped with Appe iMac computers, including 3 work places equipped with Apple MacBook Pro notebooks as well as 3 Apple MacPro equipped editing workstations bundled with 9 Final Cut Pro licences, 2 Adobe CS licences; an EditShare content storage system and 32x32 router effectively serves the news system for speeded-up production workflow. Video and graphics playout is provided by ToolsOnAir Just:Live Mac Pro based solution supporting 1+1 redundancy
Hannu Pro service engineers deployed all cable infrastructures, installed and configured equipment and systems, as well as provided especially designed news studio and control room furniture. In order to launch broadcasting at the beginning of new broadcasting season, utilizing state-of-the-art TV technologies, Hannu Pro had to comply with a strict schedule completing whole project during two mid-summer months.
